Your comfort during labor is important to us. Labor pain or discomfort varies from woman to woman and may differ with each pregnancy. You may require little or no pain medication; however, many patients request specific types of analgesia and anesthesia to relieve the pain of childbirth. Your obstetrician should discuss the pain relief options available to you during labor, delivery, and cesarean birth (if required). Every person has a different tolerance to pain, so you should not feel a sense of failure if you request anesthesia or we suggest medication for pain relief.
