Women's & Children's Hospital, located in Lafayette, Louisiana, offers great opportunities for those who are interested in Volunteering their time. Many of our volunteer staff have put in over 3000 hours of service and have been a volunteer since the hospital opened its doors in 1983.

Our volunteers provide assistance to our patients, visitors, and staff. They deliver flowers and gifts to our patients and assist family and friends finding their loved ones. They also assist the hospital staff with copying, filing and light office type duties. Most of our volunteers are located at the Information Desk.

Our volunteers will receive recognition for their services. In addition, they also receive a free meal in our cafeteria on the day they work, special parking privileges, and luncheons and teas throughtout the year. They also celebrate National Volunteer Week each May by taking special hospital sponsored trips to local sites as well as receive special gifts of appreciation.

All of our volunteers are required to go through an orientation process and must have a tubercullosis (TB) and rubella screening. The TB Screening must be updated each year with the exception of the rubella screening.
